If you’re looking for “well pump service in my area” you’ll be happy to know we serve the greater Baltimore area including Baltimore County, Harford County, Cecil County, and Howard County areas. We work with homeowners, agricultural, and commercial interests to provide what many of our customers view as Baltimore’s best water well service.

Collectively, we have more than 30 years of experience working with water well pumps and well systems. We work when you need us to, with no overtime charges. We also offer 2-hour appointment windows so you’re not waiting around all day for the plumber to show up. And you can count on us for quality water well service. We offer a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts on all new well pump installations.

We offer timely and competitively priced water well service. That generally means same day service at a price better than the other guys. If you’ve had a power outage, be sure to check the circuit breaker switch for your well pump. If it’s tripped, flipping it back may be all that’s needed to get your well water running again. Another simple thing to check if your well pump won’t turn on is to make sure any on/off switches are set to the “on” position. It sounds simple, but you’d be amazed.

Call us for well pump repair in Aberdeen if your well is having issues, including:

  • Lower water pressure
  • Dirty water
  • Loud or strange noises in the pipes
  • Air “spitting” from the faucet
  • No running water
  • Well pump constantly running
  • You suspect a leak (pooling water, spongy ground)
  • Frozen well pump

Sanitary Water Well Service Protects Your Well Water.

A lot of companies that offer submersible well pump pulling lay the well piping and wire out on the ground because they don’t have the proper equipment. Not Five Star Plumbing Services! Our truck mounted well pump pulling system pulls the submersible well pump, piping and wire out of the well and rolls it up on a large reel that is mounted on our truck.

The huge advantage to having a truck mounted pump puller is that it is sanitary. Nothing touches the ground – which is very important because the ground might have bugs, animal feces, bacteria, and other contaminants that you don’t want transferred to your well.

Signs of a failing well pump include:

  • Well pump stops altogether – no water comes out of faucets
  • “Spitting” faucets
  • Drastic reduction in water pressure
  • Well pump is running constantly
  • High electric bill

There are a couple of things you can check before calling the plumber to repair or replace your well pump. For instance, if the well pump has shut off, check your electrical panel to make sure the circuit breaker for your pump and pressure tank is in the “on” position. If it’s off, turn it on and see if that solves your problem. If it immediately trips the circuit breaker, call in an expert plumber. Your next thing to check is your well pump pressure tank. Look at the pressure gauge to make sure it reads above 20 psi. If the tank is showing pressure, your lack of water, or low water pressure, is likely due to something inside the house or plumbing. No pressure indicates a problem with your well pump, pressure tank, switch, all of three, or the well pipe that carries the well water may have sprung a leak. Call Five Star Plumbing to diagnose the problem. Many times, the culprit is a faulty well pump pressure switch. Replacing the switch is an easy fix. But if there’s nothing wrong with the switch, or replacing it doesn’t fix the problem, you may have an issue with your pressure tank or well pump.

Should we find that your well water line be leaking in the ground, Five Star Plumbing can replace the pipe using our trenchless method for a fraction of the cost and mess. If we determine that simple repairs just won’t provide a long-term solution, we may suggest replacing your well pump or pressure tank, or both. We install and service both traditional well pumps and constant pressure pumps, and we replace both submersible well pumps for deeper wells, and above ground well jet pumps. Diagnosing an issue with a jet pump is pretty simple, since it’s above ground. Diagnosing an issue with a submersible pump involves well-pump pulling. Our trucks are equipped to provide sanitary well pump pulling, keeping everything off of the ground, to avoid contamination.

If you decide to replace your well pump and/or pressure tank, we’ll make sure the new well pump and tank are sized appropriately for your home or business. We may ask you a few questions about how many people live in the home, if you have a dishwasher and washing machine, and more. For businesses, we’ll ask about some of the same things, as well as your average daily water usage. There’s no sense in replacing your well pump and pressure tank with one that doesn’t have enough power to do the job. You also don’t need a system that provides more than what you need.

The good news is, an above ground well pump replacement or submersible well pump replacement may last you for another 10-15 years.

Constant Pressure Pumps

A constant pressure well pump has a number of advantages over traditional standard pressure well pumps. It offers:

  • Constant water line pressure
  • Allows for multiple tap use
  • Variable speed
  • Automatic restart
  • Low water safety shutoff

Well pump replacement with a constant pressure pump lets you say goodbye to low water pressure. The variable speed pump kicks it into high gear when a signal is sent to the controller that water is being used in your home. The more water being used, the harder the pump works to ensure you have enough water pressure to run the dishwasher and have someone showering at the same time. Of course, if you have a smaller home, or like your water pressure just fine, we will perform well pump replacement with a new standard pressure pump. We’ll also make sure everything is in working order with your pressure tank.

Well Casing Leak Repair

It can be difficult to know if you need well casing repair. The well casing is a steel pipe that seals and supports the sides of a drilled water well. Common symptoms of a leak or cracked well casing include:

  • The sudden appearance of dirt, sand, or debris in the water supply.
  • A reduction in well flow rate.
  • A new bacterial or other. contamination problem in the well water.

Leaks in a well casing risk carrying surface or groundwater contaminants into the drinking water delivered by the well. This can be a health risk to both people and livestock.  Before beginning well casing repair, we will determine if the leak is at the surface area or down in the well itself. We may lower a camera into the well to assess the situation and locate the leak. As part of our comprehensive well services, we raise buried well casings above grade and make repairs to damaged well casings. Repairing well casings that have been run over by a truck, car, or lawn mower is one of our specialties.
