Having a clogged toilet is already enough of a pain but adding the element of still having poop in it is far from a pleasant situation. Don’t panic though, the experts at Five Star Plumbing, the #1 plumbers in Harford County are here to help go over how to unclog a toilet with poop in it.

Use Vinegar and Baking Soda

When baking soda and vinegar are mixed, a fizzling reaction will occur. This solution will break down the poop and the clog which is less messy than other methods.

If the bowl is filled with water, pail some of the water into a bucket up to about the halfway mark.

Pour one cup of baking soda followed by 2 cups of vinegar into the bowl. As stated, these two will react, so pour the vinegar slowly. Give it all about 30 minutes to work.

Be patient and the toilet should unclog after some time.

    Plunger

The cleanest, fastest and highly efficient way to unclog the toilet is to do it with the plunger.

Pick out the plunger that is wide enough to allow you to make a vacuum into the open part of the bowl. Put it into the opening and move it slowly up and down.

This way you will create a vacuum necessary for unclogging. As you go slowly, raise the speed of your movements. Once the poop goes down the drain, you can flush the water one more time.

If you are still having issues, you can repeat the process once more to further move things along the drain.

      Dish Soap

If you are short on any of the items above, you can always turn to dish soap to help. The texture of the soap might help lubricate the surface of the toilet and therefore unclog it.

Pour about a cup of dish soap into the toilet bowl and wait for about 30 minutes. This works best if the bowl is not full of water.

After waiting, if the toilet is still clogged, dump a gallon of hot water inside the bowl. This will help the clog slide out into the drain.

        Toilet Brush

Most everyone will have a toilet brush next to the bowl. Even though traditionally this is used to clean the toilet, in a pinch you can use this to aid in removing the clog.

Take the toilet brush and try to press the remaining content down into the drain. Do it carefully to avoid splashing the toilet seat. If you’re lucky, everything will go well after the second attempt at flushing the toilet.

          Coca-Cola and Plastic Foil

Yes, if the toilet is clogged with poop, you can reach for a coke in order to help with your tricky situation.

What you will want to do is pour a whole can or small bottle of coke into the bowl and cover the open area as quick as possible with plastic foil.

Leave it sit for about an hour. In the time waiting the soda will pressurize along with the plastic foil, causing the poop to go down the drain. After an hour, try to flush the toilet again, leading to hopefully a suitable response.
